VIRGINIA CARETAKER NEEDED in Abingdon, Virginia (Southwest Virginia). Seeking a motivated, responsible, physically fit individual or couple to oversee and maintain our mountain home estate. Responsibilities: Yard/grounds work, including but not limited to mowing, trimming, weeding, planting (this includes the main house/lodge, guest house, 2-mile driveway, dock areas and garage/storage areas), cleaning main house on request, maintenance, cleaning boat/equipment, along with occasional special projects, and security. Mechanical and gardening experience is a plus. In exchange: you, the tenant, agrees to 60 labor hours each month (average 15 hours/week) to cover rent and utilities, would live on the property in a stand-alone unfurnished home, 3-bedroom, 2-bath with kitchen, dining and living area, washer/dryer, and garage. Utilities are furnished including high speed internet. In the past, we've had retired couples in this position, and they were a good fit. Someone with remote job(s) could also work well.
